HOLTER MONITORING AND ANALYSIS
A Holter Monitor is a battery-operated portable device that measures and records your heart activity (ECG) for 24 to 48 hours continuously depending on the requirement. Electrodes shall be attached to your body along with the device.
What to expect during holter monitoring?
A well-trained technician will attach this monitor and tell you how it will record your symptoms when you are wearing it. The electrodes are attached to your chest. You will be asked to shaveyour chest before the electrodes are attached firmly.
Continue with your daily activities while you wear the Holter Monitor. While wearing the monitor, you should refrain from bathing, swimming and showering. Do not undergo x-rays during the testing. You must try and stay away from high voltage areas, powerful magnets and metal detectors.
